Sushi by the Cove in Nova Scotia

"I've been disappointed in general by sushi in Nova Scotia since moving here, so was overjoyed by our meal at Sushi by the Cove which is so close to home! Beautifully plated, generous rolls. Fish quality was excellent. Hoping there will be more types of fish available in the future. Loved the unique smoky flavour of the scallop oshi sushi. Will definitely be back! January 2026 - back again - fantastic quality, portion size, value and presentation. Thank you for another amazing meal and we will be back again soon - so glad you are in Lunenburg!"

"Ordered takeout salmon sashimi here for dinner and was pleasantly surprised by the quality and quantity of fish. The agedashi tofu was above average but not outstanding. I will say the menu is small and a little unusual in that they only offer tuna and salmon sashimi whereas they have a few other fish options only for the maki/rolls. I’d be more interested and a better customer if they offered a broader selection but if you want sushi or sashimi at all around Lunenburg, this is the only option, and it’s very conveniently located in Lunenburg’s main attraction, Old Town."

"Easily some of the best sushi we’ve ever had. We got a half size spicy tuna sashimi, spicy scallop oshi roll, avocado yam roll, and chicken katsu curry to share between two people. Portions were huge and brought out fast and fresh. Service was great and food was absolutely delicious!"

"Everything was amazing but definitely recommend the scallop Oshi, it was sooo delicious! Definitely the best sushi in the area I’ve had since moving here a couple of years ago. We called ahead for reservations so no wait but I’d recommend reservations so you aren’t disappointed. I’ve gotten take out too which was just as good! "My wife and I were excited to try the new sushi restaurant in Lunenburg and it didn't disappoint. We tried quite a few of the rolls and every one was excellent. The spicy sauce lives up to it's name. The chef has been hired from B.C. and the quality and care is impressive for a place open less than a week. We will definitely be back again soon."

"Really enjoyed this spot! The sushi was super fresh overall, and the oshi scallop made with locally sourced scallops was the highlight and so good. The staff were friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Definitely a place I would come back to."
